Facilities and parking

Parking.  Visits start in the Clore Learning Space at car park level. Your group will be met by a member of the Learning team.

During the winter parking is free.  From the start of the Easter holidays to the end of October half term, the charge is £3 for 3 hours or £5.70 all day.  During the summer months the car parks can be very busy so please let us know if you are bringing a coach so that we can reserve space for you, and take care when getting children on and off the bus.

Coats and bags may be left in the Clore Learning Space during your visit.  Valuables should not be left unattended at any time.

Toilets.  There are toilet facilities in the Wilshaw Building outside the Clore Learning Space, and in the main Museum building and Tunnels.  All three have facilities for people with disabilities or limited mobility.  The Wilshaw Building also has a fully wheelchair accessible shower.

Disabled Access.  The Museum is fully accessible for people with disabilities or limited mobility, with the exception of the Tunnels Escape Stairs.  Please contact Larissa Paver, Learning & Interpretation Manager, 01736 810592 or larissa.paver@telegraphmuseum.org to discuss any additional support that we may be able to provide.

Lunch.  We recommend that your group brings a packed lunch.  You are welcome to eat this in our Clore Learning Space or outside in our picnic area, weather permitting.  The Museum has a cafe and pre-booked lunches are available for groups with appropriate notice, however cafe opening is limited in the winter.

Shop.  Our shop offers a great range of educational items, books and ‘pocket money’ souvenirs.  If you are planning a visit to the shop please let us know in advance so that we can build it in to your visit timetable and open it for you on days when we are not open to the public over the winter (Tues – Fri).
