OK, so it’s not strictly related to the development project, but we couldn’t resist sharing our recent Cornwall Tourism Award with our blog followers. The Small Visitor Attraction of the Year category was hotly contended by venues across the county, so to win gold in our first year felt a huge achievement. It was a triple win for the local area, with the silver award going to Geevor Tin Mine Museum and bronze to Penlee House Gallery & Museum.
“We’re absolutely delighted to be voted the best small attraction in Cornwall where there is so much on offer and the standard is so high. We’re even more delighted to stand alongside two other local attractions as excellent as Geevor and Penlee. I’m sure that people locally are every bit as proud as we are that Penwith has shone so brightly at this year’s awards.” – Rachel Webster, Communications Officer, Porthcurno Telegraph Museum.
The awards ceremony was held at Newquay’s Headland Hotel where Museum staff and volunteers accepted the award from TV naturalist Nick Baker.
