Last weekend the Telegraph Museum Porthcurno hosted a fabulous children’s party for Cornwall-based family magazine, Tots About, and what an amazing time we all had! The museum’s beautiful Clore Learning Space was transformed into a magical ‘Under the Sea’ play emporium for the secret birthday bash, and young visitors got stuck into glittering and gluing with some fabulous crafty activities. Story sessions were held in the ‘secret sea cave’ and everyone got their hands stuck into sensory, watery play. Delicious and healthy party food was provided by our in-house team, with everything prepared fresh by the Telegraph Museum cafe.
Tots About chose the award-winning Telegraph Museum Porthcurno as the best place to celebrate its first two years during which time the magazine has gone from strength to strength. Tots About is West Cornwall’s free family survival guide from ‘bump’ to 5 years, and run as a Social Enterprise, keeping West Cornwall parents and carers in touch with vital local services and opportunities, as well as listings for what’s on in the local area, including family-friendly events at the Telegraph Museum Porthcurno. The quarterly guide is run by local Mum of two boys, Katie Evans, who is being supported by the School for Social Entrepreneurs in Cornwall.
Given all the fantastic feedback we had from our party guests (the big ones and the little one!) we’re currently exploring whether we can offer children’s parties at the Telegraph Museum Porthcurno. Watch this space for more info, or contact us if you’d like to speak to us about a party or other special event, occasion and private hire.
