Volunteering Opportunity

Citizen Curators

Citizen Curators is a free work-based training programme in museum awareness and modern curatorial practice aimed at volunteers.

The project covers the basics of museum work: collections, communities, research, interpretation and communication. There are also challenges and master classes that will give you a taste of the technical side of museum work.

Free museum course for volunteers

There will be workshops, surgeries and group working both at Telegraph Museum Porthcurno and with the other Citizen Curators based in the other participating Cornish Museums. We are looking for volunteers to sign up by August 2018, with inductions following shortly after. The first year of the programme will then start in September 2018 running until April 2019.

  • Introduction to curatorial skills
  • Hands-on with historic collections
  • Create real museum experiences
  • No experience or qualifications needed
  • Just bring your curiosity
