Ready Player One?

Question: What does a Digital Apprentice do on their birthday?

Answer: Spend the morning playing Beat Saber at Falmouth University’s Games Academy.

Introducing our new Digital Apprentice, Joe Mitchell. Self-taught in 3D design and a graphics wiz, he recently joined the museum on an 18-month contract.

His arrival marks a new phase for the museum. Along with seven other partner museums we have embarked on an innovative programme of digital engagement and development. The aim is to seek out new processes for business efficiency and new opportunities for community engagement.

Working with Cornwall Museums Partnership and Cultivator the museum will run multiple collaborative projects from research and development in augmented reality gaming to collections and digital asset management.

These projects will be profiled both online and through learning, events and activities at the museum for a range of ages. To find out more about our work with Falmouth University and the Games Academy go to http://atdev.falmouthgamesacademy.com/
