Porthcurno

Museum, Family attraction, things to do, Cornwall, Porthcurno

Nestled in the heart of the Porthcurno Valley, The Telegraph Museum sits in its own beautifully kept gardens, worthy of a place on Gardener’s World. The eco climate allows for a variety of hardy, sub-tropical and even tropical plants, amongst which visitors can find mysterious objects from the cableships, including grapnals, anchors, and repeaters, as well as art sculptures.

The museum is located on the South West Coast Path so is a great place to start a variety of coastal walks, including our own Valley Trail, which you can collect a leaflet for from the museum.

For the more ambitious, Land’s End is a five mile walk. For cyclists it is on the First & Last Trail.

Porthcurno Beach and the Minack Theatre are on our doorstep. There are a variety of ancient sites and stunning traditional villages for you to discover locally too, including one of the best-preserved ancient villages in South West England, Carn Euny.
